Passage to Manhood - Guiding Young Teens to Adulthood
Dates: Starts October 1, 2002, weekly workshop for 8 weeks, Ends November
19, 2002.
Times: Tuesday Evenings, 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Location: Glen Eyrie Conference Center, Cedar Ridge Room
Woodmen Valley Chapel is partnering with Sure Passage to help fathers and
sons set a course for adulthood and learn to navigate it successfully. Sure
Passage is a nonprofit ministry whose vision is to help each young teenager
intentionally embrace life as an adult in today's culture. The workshop is for
Fathers and Sons (ages 13-17). The format consists of weekly group meetings on
core concepts (e.g. Integrity, Honoring Women, Character of a Godly Man, etc.).
Following the lessons, the teen and his Father (or adult male mentor) will
together plan and take a special adventure. The program concludes with a
gathering of workshop families. Each son reports on his growth through the
lessons and the adventure. The families then respond by committing to
acknowledge and support the passage of their sons to manhood in the days to
come. The gathering concludes with celebration.
The first night orientation (for just the parents and male mentors) is
Tuesday October 1, 2002 at Glen Eyrie Conference Center, Cedar Ridge Room (at
the entrance, tell them that you are there for the "Sure Passage"
workshop). The orientation is mandatory for participation in this workshop.
Register by Friday, September 27th. (Seating is limited.)
