Father/Son Mission Expedition
Gentry and Gabe are planning to offer a unique and exciting kind of mission
experience. One of our dreams has been to provide a series of increasingly
demanding trips that challenge teens and parents to be all that God desires them
to be. Tailored for life points such as 6th grade, 9th grade, 12th grade, and
college, these trips will be designed to help students put their faith into
action and to help parents intentionally guide their youth to Godly adulthood.
We plan to offer combinations of age-appropriate service projects and adventure
tours in locations that will range from local to regional to international.
Likewise, the service requirements and adventure difficulty will increase based
on the group’s maturity level to deepen emotional impact and to spur spiritual
growth. One’s first trip may be a local outreach (like a soup kitchen) and local
outings (like overnight camping). The next trip could be a regional evangelistic
campaign followed by a canoeing weekend. The next level may be a building
project in Mexico along with a week-long backpacking trip. Then the most
advanced trips could include orphanage work or humanitarian aid in remote
villages followed by an extreme mountaineering ascent. We have already “piloted”
local and regional options. Later this summer we are taking a small group to
South America to put together an advanced-level trip. We will meet with
missionary contacts to determine the most appropriate service projects. And we
will establish relationships with qualified guides for adventure opportunities.
This expedition will also help us determine what future group costs for this
type of mission adventure will be. Although our focus is initially on
father/son, we plan to offer father/daughter and various family groups as well.
Tentative Dates:
 | Ecuador - Summer |
 | New Zealand - Spring Break |

Family Legacy Outreach
We believe that everyone should have at least one mission experience. Ideally
we all should be serving others right where we live throughout our days on
earth. And sometimes a good mission trip is just what it takes to embrace that
view of our role in this world. Memories of helping people in need while
realizing changes in ourselves provide perspective and purpose to the daily
routine. Now, rather than feeling too young or too old to go on a mission trip
or that each family member goes on a separate tip, wouldn’t it be great if the
entire family could experience a mission project together? We have gone on
mission trips as a family and it is an incredibly bonding experience! There is
power in the generations working together and with other families. We are
exploring partnerships with missionaries and agencies to offer mission trips
where everyone from grade-schoolers to grandparents can go and serve together.
Our goal is to work (with a ministry who is using the serving-as-a-family model)
in a camp for orphans with a high-energy, relationship-building, worship and
teaching approach – filled with games, songs, crafts, candy, and new t-shirts
for the mistreated and abandoned orphans. We then plan to build on what we learn
to offer several additional family mission trips next year. Contact Gentry

or phone 719-522-0250) for more info.
Germany “Unite Tour”
Hey everyone! I have a very exciting opportunity this summer; I
will be going on a mission team to Germany. We will be leaving June 22nd and
coming back July 6th. The trip is with New Life Church and YWAM. One of the most
incredible things about this trip is that we will be in Germany during the World
Cup! There will be millions of people from all around the world pouring into
Germany to watch the World Cup. We will be able to reach out to them. We will be
playing soccer with local youth, doing street evangelism, ministering in cafes
and markets, going on prayer walks, hosting evangelistic services and assisting
local churches. We will also be remodeling an old castle into a ministry center.
It is going to be an amazing opportunity to show the love of Christ to people
from all around the world. It is very important that we have people here praying
for our team and the people we will be ministering to. I would love it if you
would pray for me and the others on this trip. I also need to raise $2,500 and
if you could help out with that, that would be great. (Please use
this form or donate online.)
Thanks,
Garrett
